Protection Class Current Transformer is used to measure alternating current (AC). It produces a reduced AC voltage proportional to the current flowing through the primary winding. The current transformer is used to measure the current in a circuit without disturbing the flow of current in the circuit. It is commonly used in metering and protective relays in the electrical power industry. This Protection Class Current Transformer provides electrical isolation between the measuring and the supply circuits. It is also used to provide a current signal for the control of large motors and other loads.
